Introductory Song: 'Faithful One' (Annabelle and Paul)
We greet you in Jesus’ Name and trust that you will receive a rich blessing as you join us for this service of worship.
As we express our adoration to God may you find fresh fuel for praise and also personal encouragement.
Whatever problems or challenges we are facing at present we can be sure of God’s watchful care and triumphant love.
Heavenly Father, we magnify Your holy Name and we thank you for Your lovingkindness expressed in the gift of Your Son,
Jesus Christ, to be our Redeemer. We rejoice in Your rule of righteousness and in Your faithfulness.
We acknowledge the gracious ministry of Your Holy Spirit, our Comforter and Helper.
Please cleanse us afresh and lead us forward with renewed confidence in You for whatever the future holds for us.
We rejoice that nothing can separate us from Your love or from the hope we have in Jesus.
New Testament Reading: 2 Corinthians 4 vs6-11, 16-18
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.
But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned;
struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.
For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that His life may also be revealed in our mortal body.
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Hymn: 'Through all the changing scenes of life'
The Apostles' Creed:
As we choose to anchor our faith in truth, let’s say together –
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
He descended to the dead.
On the third day He rose again;
He ascended into heaven,
He is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.

A Prayer (by Clement of Rome AD95)
O Lord Almighty, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, grant us, we pray, to be grounded and settled in Your truth
by the coming down of the Holy Spirit into our hearts. That which is lacking fill up; that which we know already confirm.
And keep us blameless in Your service, through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Hymn: 'A mighty fortress is our God'
Let us go forth into the world in peace; being of good courage; holding fast to that which is good;
rendering to no man evil for evil; strengthening the fainthearted; supporting the weak; helping the afflicted;
honouring all men; loving and serving the Lord, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit.
And may the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit,
be upon us and remain with us for ever.
