(2004 - 2007)

I was born into a Christian family and brought up in the “Open Brethren” at Upminster, Essex.  I accepted Jesus Christ as my Saviour during a children’s Mission and was baptised in my mid-teens.  In 1960 I married Pam and we have been blessed with 3 children and 6 grandchildren.

After various research positions in London hospitals and the USA, I joined Pfizer in 1967 and we moved to Cliftonville.  We were members of Margate Baptist Church from 1967 to 2001, where I served as Deacon and then Elder for 33 years!

Both Pam and I have long been members of the Gideons and this form of outreach continues to keep us busy.  Occasional lay preaching and Bible studies continue to keep the grey cells ticking over, along with my enthusiastic but amateurish violin playing.

We moved to Chestfield in 2001 and were given a really warm welcome at Whitstable Baptist Church.  The worship, the singing, the ministry of God’s Word, and the warmth of the fellowship have been a real blessing to both Pam and myself.  I count it a privilege to be asked to serve as a “new” Deacon.
